4spd Z-bar bracket on automatic cars

-
There doesn't seem to be any definitive pattern to the brackets on automatic cars.
I have seen some with and some without on various automatic cars over several years.
It's almost like someone new at he factory put them on every car and didn't read the build sheet.

I was just showing that some auto cars didn't have the reinforcement plate.
On my 72 the hole seemed to be right cuz everything lines up great after I did the 4-spd swap.
10-4.. A couple cars I have done they were close, I think with the headers in there and everything lined up. I had to raise the hole a skosh to get the the z bar nice and straight....

Just throw my hat in the ring.. 73 slant 6 automatic AC Duster didn't have one...
I welded a big huge washer covering a smaller washer and put my z bar stud through that. that lasted for about five years and I had to end up bracing it a few months ago as it started to give...

My '69 Dart originally Slant 6 column shift didn't have one.

I had to weld one in place when I did my 4 speed conversion.
