2011 super duty with intermittent parasitic drain. Been chasing it for months. It never happens when its here. Well, it does, but i never catch it. put my tester on it and it wont drain battery. Im usually pretty good at finding these issues, but this one is smart.

good luck, these new trucks are a pain I bet to find the drain

Good Morning All! Working my way through the work week, working on my pile O sticks when I can, I'm getting there. Wondering if working on the duster isn't going to be a winter thing. I did get my rear bumper brackets back from powder coat, that's something I guess.

Got a question about J heads. Can anyone tell me what the down side is to upsizing intake valve from 1.88 to 2.02 is (as compared to getting factory 2.02). I was reading on a thread about "bowl size" being too small if you do that, didn't really understand if that was critical. Comments?

No downside I know of. A buddy did that to his 318 heads and his teen screams!

There is no down side, they put 1.88 and 2.02 in the j heads from the factory in 1971, same bowls in the heads, just different valves... They didn't change the castings for the valves... the castings are the same...

I usually upgrade all of my 340/360 heads to 2.02 intakes if they don't have them already...

Thanks all for the comments on intake valve upsize, think I'll grab up those J heads.

They will be fine... Throw some 2.02 intakes in them and let them flow...

The J heads took over for the x heads mid year 1970, 340's had j heads with 2.02 intakes from mid 1970 model year through 1971 model year, they will be fine with 2.02 intakes...

In 1971, the j heads came with 2.02 intakes for 340's and 1.88 intakes for 360's... They will work with either valve...

The jugs stick out above the block .018 so there aren't any interference issues with a modified J head then, since same casting?

The 340's came with j heads in 1970 & 1971, the pistons should clear the combustion chamber... Do a dry test fit to make sure...

Keep in mind that the fel pro head gaskets that come in the tear down kits are about .062" thick... Your pistons won't stick above the top of the head gasket...

I would definitely check piston to valve clearance....
