My car is a 67 Barracuda convertible.
It has a ragged looking fake chrome strip at the boyyom.
I bought a new one but I am wondering if I will be able to install it into my old windshield gasket.
Anyone got tips besides get a new windshield gasket?

If that old gasket is hard, your probably out of luck. Swap to a 68 up gasket, install the clips and a piece of 68-76 A body lower cowl windshield stainless trim. Same piece will work off any 68-76 2 door or 4 door except duster and demon.

Thanks, I'll try that if I can't make the new one I bought for a 67 doesn't work.
I was thinking my heat gun might help

Sorry, Moparmat2000 is incorrect. The windshield gasket and trim was the same for all three years on the convertible (he is thinking of the fastback and notch). I think you should soak that gasket with Son of a Gun and then try the heat gun. I can't imagine it is so hard and brittle that you couldn't get the lockstrip in. You're in Santa Cruz, not Arizona.

Who is the mfg of new one?
Still got the old one?
Heres pic of I believe the correct profile you need.

I have a really nice lower windshield molding from a 1972 Dart I'd be glad to part with. It might help you out? Pm me and we can chat.

72Dart6pack: No, it has to be a convertible. Well, I actually know a metalsmith that modified a stainless piece to fit, but it wouldn't be any kind of clean swap.
