318/410 What do you think (posting for a friend not my engine)

Before I did a stroker 318 I read a article in mopar magazine that did a 402 stroker I think it was called iron lung sucker punch. Good read, mines a 392 40 over super fun. U might take a look. I believe there pros and do the testing before making a 402 cu. stroker. I’m sure there’s a reason they don’t go bigger than that but I’m not the guy to say not to.
 
The heads will be the restriction... You need something that breaths.

So many guys build these big inch strokers then plug up the engine with stock head's or Chinesium head's that can't handle the cubic inches.

Use Trick Flows, Edelbrock Victor's or W-2's. Otherwise you just have a rough idleing dump truck engine.

Bore it, build it, run it, blow it up, rinse and repeat.
 
I'm not saying it wouldn't be a fun ride around town... but you'd have an expensive tire bill.

I'd be looking for another machine shop if mine recommended boring my block that much without sonic checking it first.
