Hello has anyone ran these? I went to finally get the coolant system filled on my build, small block Ritter(59 degree, 9.6" deck), 428 stroker, Eddie mag heads and super victor intake. And the driver side gasket is dripping coolant. The intake is down good and tight. Its a double thick intake gaskets glued together by superformance( not bashing at all great company and great customer service). But have any of you ran into this with these gaskets? Do they seal once the engine is started and they get some heat? Crappy pic but its tight in my bay area.

Every Superformance gasket I’ve used is incredible. That doesn’t mean they can’t fail. They sure are nice though.

Totally agree. Just curious to see if it will seal with heat and not have to pull off the intake, there a bunch of stuff I'd need to remove :(

Maybe go that route, will put it in before I start it for the first time. Just bummed, it sat for a while but that shouldn't have mattered.

I just put a set on one my cars. I picked them up from him, he lives right down the road from me. He told me to put them on dry, just some sealant around the water ports if there are pitted. So I would think a warm up cycle and retorque they should be fine.

Yeah he told me that too, no pits everything was smooth. Sounds like that's the plan, fire it up and retighten once cooled.

If it has sat for more than 24 hours u should be able to loosen the oil drain plug a few threads. If just oil comes out ur good to go. Oil floats on top of water/antifreeze. Kim

Good call will let it sit and check and see.

Its not caught up on the valley plate is it

Okay got home today to find coolant on the top side of the valley which means the bolt of fitting. Check all the fittings all dry, removed the drivers rear Mani bolt and wet to the top, I originally did put some blue silicone rtv on the threads since the Ede's go into the water jackets on the outside holes. Would the white thread sealant paste not tape be better then silicone? Will go under and drain a little bit of oil make sure there's no coolant there after dinner.

Something has to be wrong. I would be taking it back apart. Kim Ask yourself this: is the risk worth it?

Well when I removed the bolt, there was barely any silicone left of it, either that or the shoulder it hitting the head and in that case would need a thread all the way up. Under the washer the shoulder is 0.3640"

Never mind just measured the bolt mount to head and that 0.7480" so its not bottoming out

If there wasn't enough silicone on the threads wouldn't the coolant work its way up the threads??

It sure could, I never was fond of silicone for sealing on bolt threads.
I always used Hylomar

Are you going to try it.

Was thinking about it, was going to talk to Greg at superformance gaskets and see if his gaskets would seal up after it leaking, but still need to make sure there isn't any in the pan, course if there is I'm only out 5qts of oil not to bad. If there is any should have all made its way down to the pan.
They are reusable gaskets so I'm thinking they should be okay to keep in place. Thoughts??
