Help with 1970 Dart restoration please.

They had the swinger emblem on the quarter up through I think 71. In 72 they moved to the fender. There are several versions of the emblem. At least two, maybe three. One has an extra stud right behind the flower. I think all the other studs are in the same location. Not sure when the emblem was used on the trunk lid, early for sure. 72+ did not have it.

The quarter panels were removed so I don't know if the original emblems had three studs on the quarters or four. I am thinking four for the quarters and three for the trunk if they are different sizes or if the three stud was an early Swinger design?

The three holes on the trunk do not line up with the four stud Swinger emblem at all. They may have used the three stud Swinger for the trunk? and the four for the quarter?

I know Chrysler was known for using everything up. Maybe they used the three stud until gone and then switched to the four stud? I'm not sure and don't claim to be an expert but I know you never say never and I always keep the door open for possibilities.

I spoke to the owner again and he said the trunk lid was not switched. If the three holes were for a Swinger emblem with three studs then maybe it was an early usage of the emblems. That being the case this trunk lid with the three stud Swinger did not have the "Dart" emblem as well.

I'm not even sure if the two different Swinger emblems are the same size?

I am going to call vendors and see if the emblems they are selling have three studs and order one to compare. That should put this to rest.
