Pros & cons Champion RS vs RN

And they didn’t hit the piston? That ignition system looks like something out of back to the future. I’m 65 and I’ve never seen one. Till now

The construction of the peanut plug heads (tapered seat plugs) may have changed, as I've heard claims from other guys you can get either gasketed short reach (J) plugs in there or the designed peanut plugs. They way they were made, the N-3/4 reach would screw in while the J short reach could not reach past the tapered seat.

Sorry for the thread hijack.

That’s the aftermarket for you. The bigger plug is stock (or course) and still in some demand I would guess since it is still being made.

You know them Resto guys!!!! Gotta have the right style plug!

Not to derail a thread, but...I’m using Campion RJ12YC plugs now. Is there a 5/8” equivalent?

Nope. You’re stuck with that 13/16 hex. BTW, what heads are you running? Unless it’s OE cast iron big block heads that’s probably the wrong plug.

That’s exactly what they are, 915 big block.

Then that J series plug is your only option. Champion has been slowly eliminating heat ranges for that plug. Sometimes I end up with whatever brand has the correct heat range. The only plug less popular than that one is the F series short reach 18 mm stuff. I hate that plug size more than ear aches and watered gin.
