Anybody using these head gaskets .040 compressed and a heckuva lot cheaper then Felpro . Rockauto has them on closeout at $8.61 each
 
Watch what you do. a cheap head gasket may blow and it will cost you more to repair than buying a good gasket to start, especially on a high performance engine. I use Felpro or Cometic
 
That is for sure one place I would not cheap out. Never had a problem with a Felpro so I wouldn't take the chance. But with that said I have never used that head gasket before... maybe it's good?
 
I went there and checked it out, Mahle makes good gasket, I have used them before with no problems. I also found they had Fel-Pro 8553PT gaskets for $6.34 on closeout, I got 4 for $37 shipped Summit has them for $17.99 ea.
 
I'm thinking these Mahle gaskets are similar to some of the other cheaper composition gaskets like Mr. Gasket offer.

I have a couple mild small block projects in mind for the future so I ordered four of these cheapys from RA... we will see how they work.

AFAIK no other cheap .040 head gasket available , felpro 1008 are like $40+ each , hope they are decent
