Not gonna make it. Too much work to do around here tomorrow and I've had a little gut bug all week. Have a great time. Plans are to make to Fall Fling, though.

Jim, what about the San Joaquin Valley Mopars Meet normally going on in Madera? Has it been moved to Clovis?
I'm having trouble finding good info.. don't know who else to ask.. Thanks!

Yes, it has been moved to Clovis and is scheduled for this Saturday. We will probably be out there, but without a car. Might have some parts for sale.

I took this at 8:30. Line was as long behind me.
Sorry, I know it's late..

Does anyone know what the green DeSoto (second car on the trailer) had for an engine. It has that “sleeper” look but very fast.

He was pitted next to me.. I never spoke to him, but those were known to have either a 331ci or 354ci Hemi. first generation, of coarse.
Sounded decent. What did it run?

I don’t remember what he ran but I’m guessing He has a built hemi. It was faster than it looked.

Yeah, I heard it idle in the staging lanes... it wasn't grandma approved.

Saw him make a 12.50 pass and heard him talking to someone he was hoping for a high Eleven. Would have been a good race between my friends 68 wagon.

Any indication what engine is in it?

331/354 were Chrysler engines. DeSoto had its own hemi's, they have a similar design but share no parts at all with the Chryslers except the bell housing pattern. DeSoto would have been 276/291 for the short deck or 330/341/345 for the tall decks. Looks like a 1951 DeSoto though, so inline 6 would be the only stock choice as the 276 didn't come out until 1952. At 12.50 it's definitely not stock!

well don't you get a gold star..

I'm really glad you made it out, Gage !! I looked it over while you were registering.. great foundation of a car !
