I've only seen 1 of my big blocks being dirty in the valley. It was a high mile 440 r/v engine with a rusted out valley pan from a junk yard. Usually if they're just cracked open there's metallic paste stuff sitting near the lifters, so my guess is its most likely been refreshed. Pistons look like factory, & that's the ridge causing the measurements definitely
