Keep having a small leak on newly installed Offy dual port intake with new cast alum waterneck !!!
Been buying felpro from local parts store with peel of back side does anyone make a better gasket or thicker than stock one but [ NON-CORK ] ?
Thanks Chris

Try a light coat of RTV on the gasket. Let it set up before installation.
That will seal any minute crevices.

I had that exact problem on my 340 with an Edelbrock Air Gap, and it DID drive me crazy. I wasn't sure whether the surface on the thermostat housing , or the intake, or both were not true. First let me say that I am not a fan of the gaskets that are peal off sticky on one side. I like all paper with a bit of sealer on each side. I tried filing both surfaces a bit to flatten them, and it still leaked. I tried hard sanding blocks and varying grits of sandpaper, and it still leaked. I tried different types and amounts of RTV / gasket sealers, and it still leaked. I also tried to put sealer on both sides of the gasket, let it set up for a few hours, and then tighten the bolts, and it still leaked. I tried different gaskets, and it still leaked. What finally stopped it was a housing with an O ring by billet specialties. https://www.billetspecialties.com/shop-by-department/tstat/chrysler/?F_Sort=2 Try the gasket suggested by @jazak5, but if it does not work, this O ring housing will. You can scuff it with sandpaper and then prime it and paint it if you want.

I finally gave up on using the aluminum thermostat housings at all. You can get old style cast iron ones from Dorman and that seems to have done the trick for me for a long time.

I installed a Realgasket thermostat housing gasket on my cast iron 67 about 3 years ago and not a drop.

Caution. They are installed DRY as in NO sealers. And torked to (IIRC) 12 INCH pounds.

My cast iron intake is all pitted from 50+ years of leaking. And it has not leaked drop.

Also clean out the blind holes of debres.
Ten 4
Thank you
Such a simple process but sometimes it drives us CRAZY

Sounds like warpage on one piece or the other to me .
Last attempt FYI
Ran in driveway 20 mins drove up and down highway near my house atleast 15 miles then came home checked it and dry ### was like oh ok D!m
Finally came out next day & dry drove to Chinamart ( Walmart ) for gear oil came home 3 drips came out
Water neck is new actually a decent cast alum ( Kat ) brand I believe
Oh well just ordered the gasket member recommended and if it works properly I will buy 5 more to keep in waiting should I need one for another project.

Heck - I will try to find one or two to hort up for future etc !

My 340 always weeped until I put a peice of 220 grit wetsand paper on a flat surface and sanded this **** out of my gooseneck. It was warped. Hasn't leaked since.

Did same used permex gasket maker very thin but all coated both sides bolted down to snap on wrench bite in hand tight no prob. Think there like tin valve covers everybody over tightens them and they warp and leak

Again and I can't emphasize enough. DRY AND DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN.

Use these I know they are expensive but work perfect and reusable. I purchased 2 of these and never had to use the 2nd one and I’ve had this on and off quite a few times when I was deciding and trying different thermostats . No silicon needed. Summit Racing® Thermostat Housing Gaskets SUM-G2399
