Actually I built that short block before I found my first STR-12. That 340 was originally built in the late 70s with that 292 duration DC cam and it was not great as a regularly driven street car. The 284 cam was a step back to make it more drivable, but like I said it never got run in that motor. My street car with the cross ram has a 340 4 speed cam and I think that has been one key to making it a car that I can drive hundreds of miles to a show or run.
