All the cams sold by Direst Connection/Mopar Performance (see link in post #12) were "purple shaft cams" and the blank was actually painted purple before it was ground - kind of a Mopar signature (see pic of the cam for sale). It was kind of hard to fake because the paint runs cleanly to the ground lobes and journals. I seem to remember that all these cams were ground for Chrysler by Racer Brown.
