1965 273 power steering qustions

Hi everyone
I have a power steering issue here and not sure of anything. The picture shows exactly what was on car 65 barracuda..> First off what is it? Who has it? Is there an easy conversion

You can get seal kits for them, or convert it to a later model Saginaw pump and brackets.

Those pumps have an oring around the can and a pump shaft seal, both can leak. If the can gets dented they tend to leak even with a new oring.

That was the same setup that was on my 65 Dart wagon, which is correct for 65 - earlier (and maybe 66 A bodies as well - I’m not up on stuff like that for 66’s). PS units used a 5/8th return line from the steering box to the pump and a fairly long high pressure hose from pump to to the box. Some full size Chryslers also utilized a U-Shaped PS fluid cooler with the 5/8th lines to match the hose size as you have

Is there a specific number including brackets kit you would suggust

Look more like this? This is a Thompson built pump. Once you (I help you) figure out which pump you have then you can search for the right one or a rebuild/reseal kit.

I don’t know what brackets you would need to switch it over, I’m sure somebody on here knows. I would identify your pump and try to reseal it first.
 
The rock auto pic is what is Everyone is out of it . Iwould love to change out to a Saginaw pump since that is what is in my fury Just not sure how to go about it
