I always go out to my pole barn and check around my Harley's and cuda to make sure mice aren't having breakfast with my wiring as the main course. I'm more concerned about my Harley's because I happened to remember a bulletin (around 2012) in a magazine mentioning how some auto. wires were made with soy and mice and rats were enjoying this free meal.

Well, now that makes sense... I just got done rewiring my trailer lights for the second time this year- darn critters keep chewing it up. Now I know why. After a couple of years in a row of this nonsense, I ran the wires through BX cable shielding front to rear on it, so hopefully no more issues...

spray the exposed wiring with some super hot sauce mixture. they will only give it one sniff or lick and be done with it.

I buy about 10 boxes of dryer sheets at the Dollar store and spread them throughout my two darts over the winter. They say they hate the smell and wont stay around them. It seems to work. I also set traps with cotton balls because mice love them for building nests . I used to catch them often but now don't with dryer sheets spread everywhere. Put them in your Cuda.

Dryer sheets sound like they work but how do you get the Darts into the dryer????:poke:

i put dryer sheets under the sheets on the bed i sleep in. they say spiders and creepy crawlers dont like them there either

Moth balls work, too.
Here come the jokes...

My 2005 ram 1500. Squirrels have eaten the wiring twice. Once on a sensor that made it not start. Second time was the wires for the AC clutch. I heard groundhogs really love that organic wire insulation.

I put dryer sheets in my boat last year and the mice made nice little nests out of them

Put a fresh cut piece of cedar in your vehicle. Same 2x4, 1.5" long piece in my car since 2008.

Thats odd Squirrels also ate the wiring on my dad`s 2005 Caravan.

They also ate the firewall insulation on my 05 ram. I have half a dozen cars at my house and they only mess with the truck for whatever reason.

Same piece since day 1.
I'll cut a small slice off every few years, or sand it with rough sandpaper.
Mostly I just leave it alone and remove it during the warm/driving seasons, put it back when it's going to sit.
Here's proof it works, removed it at the beginning of this year, short version, car out of service unexpectedly for extended period, went to drive again, pulled the visor down found a nest.
First time since 2008 I found any sign of a rodent.
Don't recall where I heard it from, but I still don't believe it works.
