LVLP Spray gun

-
I have used the same siphon feed gun for 20 years. It finally started giving me fits so, I also am using the purple Harbor Frieght hvlp gun. I think it works really nice and, its cheap enough if it starts acting up i can toss it in the trash and, move on. I hear of a lot of people who use them once and, throw them away becsuse they are so cheap, they dont even bother cleaning them.
I bought one of the purple HF guns a few months ago, have not used it yet, but tear it apart before you use it, mine was full of oil, I guess to protect it while packaged up.
I cleaned the oil out, and sprayed thinner thru it, it has a really nice spray pattern for a cheap $10 gun.

Don't forget the filter where the cup is screwed in. I just soak that and the head in thiinner after I have run it several times with clean up.

I had to do the same thing with mine after I got it. When I saw the packing oil, I thought....that won't just make fish eyes, it'll make WHALE eyes! I used mine to paint a battery tray and a garden hose hanger FC7, and it turned out nice for an el cheapo gun. It sprayed much nicer than the former el cheapo gun from Home Depot that cost triple the HF purple one.
