Isn't 12 in lbs creepy?
Very but like I said put 170 miles on mine last night ZERO leaks
PS - I guess my inch pounds t wrench is loaned out because its missing in action etc , I just used a 9/16 combination wrench snugged it up then after engine ran for twenty mins with zero leaks I slightly tightened just a little more and the REST IS HISTORY.

Isn't 12 in lbs creepy?
PS - we use the material on water valves up to 48" at work with over 200 psi in some areas and yes torque setting much higher on t-head bolts but still gives me some comfort knowing this material is Superior over the normal garbage we are forced to obtain , im a customer for LIFE with this TN company .

I’ve read that Real Gasket Tennessee makes valve cover gaskets too, has anybody tried them?

Yeah and not happy. I got their fiberglass reinforced one for my 170. Torqued it just like they said. And yes, I straightened the bolt holes out. I tried it at their torque spec. Leaks like hell. I tried it a "little" tighter. Leaks like hell. Just a little tighter until it JUST was trying to ooze out from under the cover. Leaked like hell. Replaced with cork. Sealed like a ****.

Good to know, I’ll stick to the cork too, old tried and true.

They work. I just wish they didn't absorb oil over time. It does take a long time, at least.

It eliminated my issue on old Dual port !
Mongo very HAPPY

Cut one out. Material looks a little thinner than your gasket. Maybe cut another with some thicker stuff so I can try both. Maybe a long time cuz I have no leaks.

Looks great
Mine hasn't leaked any
I also went on the website for that company and they have some nice trans pan gaskets .

Maybe this material for the waterneck gaskets is Just a good item for older pitted areas etc on vintage intakes or a New Chinese intake
( WEIRD EVEN SAYING ) might need it seal properly.

I no longer use any gasket. On a new Weiand Action+ and now a new Edelbrock AG I use a heavy (thick base) chromed aluminum neck, with the the sealing surface sanded down to the alloy using flat glass and sandpaper. Cover the entire surface with a skim coat of Ultra Black and lightly snugged with a wrench, let it set for a few, then tightened using “feel”. No goop squeezed out, nice and clean, no weeps whatsoever. All in the prep and application IMO.

Sounds good
I do like the clean look of this gasket also - a detailed motor is a Happy

Not that it needs mentioning, check the length of your bolts. One thread too long and it feels like its tight. But its not.

Oh yea thats always possible
I cut a zip tye and measured depth because some Waterheads owned truck before me and entire engine bay was jacked up !!
They had wires jumped and zero ballast resistor on truck Its amazing how stupid & cheap some Humans are.

I’m going to try to cut out a gasket out of some 1/8” silicone rubber sheet I have from another project. I think you could likely cut 4 or more out of a sheet. They sell 12’x12” sheets of 1/8” thick on Amazon for like $13.
