I just took a few minutes and looked around at the posts just on page 1. There is tons of members here and most of us have different project's going on and different problems to solve. What is the most memorable thing that has happened because of FABO? I have met some great people that I consider friends. What's your story.

I have owned something like 25 or 26 A body cars, 3 B bodies, 2 C bodies and only one E body Challenger.
I prefer the 67-69 Darts and the 70-74 Dusters in terms of A body cars. When I joined this site, I had a '74 Duster that I built to look like a '71 Duster 340. I didn't have any problems with the car that necessitated the help of members here.
I did go through some troubles with the 440/493 in my '70 Charger. I started many threads about the detonation issues I had. I posted about it everywhere...Here, Moparts, FBBO and DodgeCharger.com.
Rusty Rat Rod surely pulled many hairs out trying to help me with it. A BodyBomber did too. Lots of members here stepped in with suggestions. In the end, I went with thicker head gaskets and the knocking went away. There were equal amounts that liked or hated the idea but it did work for me. The amount of members here is fantastic. This forum moves pretty fast.
I have had mixed reception here though. Stuff that I have posted here has been deleted while the exact same stuff I also post at FBBO gets likes and acceptance from Moderators. People here often seem to L O V E to click the Red X. That isn't so common at FBBO. It could be that since I am not here as much, maybe the members haven't warmed up to my obnoxious demeanor like most have at FBBO.
The Moderators have a tough job that I'm guessing that few people appreciate. If things go smoothly, they get no credit. If someone gets banned, edited or scolded, the Mods get insulted. I don't see why anyone would want that responsibility but it is good that they are here.
The site has provided me with a FREE platform to sell a lot of stuff. From 2013-2015, I sold all sorts of stuff that helped me pay CASH for the Wife's new Challenger. Last year and this one, I've sold enough to aid the build of my "Jigsaw" 1970 Charger project car. I accumulated a fair amount of decent parts over the years from Pick-N-Pull yards and from buying out stashes of parts from guys in my area. I've shipped to Vermont, Canada, New Zealand and plenty of places in between. This forum is a fine example of what the internet can be: A place to bring people together that have common interests.
Forget facebook.....I have no tolerance for a site that edits or silences people that have a different opinion than the site owner. Joey's forums are a great source for information and camaraderie.

Meh.....we had a good time ultimately though, didn't we? That right there is what it's all about to me. Makin friends. I've been online since I got hurt in 1999. I never in a million years thought I would ever make a friend that "I couldn't see".....but some of the best friends I have now I can only see in pictures. I consider you one of them sir.

Fabo people made me realize that I'm not alone in this car sickness we have. These guys encouraged and inspired me to daily drive a mopar as sole transportation despite family opposition. My family doesn't understand why I would drive around in a "junker" when they have offered to buy me a new car. I daily drive a 68 dart that is by vin number a GTS, but i have a slant six in it and been happily commuting for 7 years.

The most memorable time is when i bought a 71 duster from another member (you know who you are) and me and him dug it out of the ground to load on my trailer during a snow Storm in Wyoming. That was a good time topped with burgers and tator tots.

At first i was only buying parts and I probably paid some peoples rent or mortgage at times though i have slowed down now and I don't buy parts so much anymore. Now I come for the ambiance, the coffee shop was a good time for awhile too.......

A few cars and a ton of parts later, I cain't believe 9.5 years has past me by.

I have made alot of what I consider friends and have meet a ton of helpful insightful people that have supported my build. I thought I knew alot about cars when I started this but quickly found out I didn't know jack! I have had people on here give me parts for free give me priceless knowledge for free, and sell me some really good parts for a excellent deals. And have had some really good conversations. I really appreciate everyone and there help.

my favorite memory is The Original Giant Clam Thread i never laughed so hard in my life , until some moron deleted it .

First car was a 70 Duster, 340/4spd. Always wanted another but family/job/ kids took priority. After being out of cars for 25 yrs I got another, and didn’t know squat about how to repair/upgrade it. Still don’t know squat compared to people here, but with their help I’ve rebuilt suspension front and rear, replaced and repaired engines, trans, rear ends, repaired and upgraded electrical and even did a bit a painting. It’s not perfect but never could have done it without this site. Met a couple locals that became good friends, and others on this site at Mopars in the Park.

This site has slowed the progression of my cars..... Time that would be wrench'n is now typing... LOL :D :D

In a selfish way one could say, FABO makes me feel useful (again). When I can help someone with the correct answer to a question/problem I'm just glad to be alive. It's a good feeling to give rather than take (although I do my fair sure of taking around here).

I haven't been a member here long, but I enjoy this site more than I thought I would. So many awesome and friendly people, and it feels just like being back in the shop. The interaction, hearing other's experience, and learning from all the experience is great. I am ready to get started on some projects and welcome the knowledge of the forum to build some awesome cars.

More than anything else, I think this site has made me really question my sanity when I decided to sell my perfectly fun, driveable and enjoyable 1970 Dart Custom after 20 years. Had I been aware of the existence of FABO, I may have been more aware of the value of my car, not necessarily in $$$, but how much I really enjoyed driving it and the reactions and comments from other people. I always knew that I was deeply afflicted with the illness of car crazy, just never realized how many others were there too.

I can turn a wrench, but sometimes lack the confidence to get into uncharted water. I know I can get the info I need to complete the job here. It's like having a friend come over and get his hands dirty. Joined up wayyy back because I bought my '70 440 dart, think around '93, my first A-body Mopar. Had a LOT of questions about it because to that point there were a lot of Chevy's. It's been a good experience, for the most part. My "Mutt" 27 years ago.

Getting technical advice from people who really know what they’re talking about is just a small part of what I like about FABO and FBBO. I like reading discussion threads (especially in the political forum) and joke threads. I contacted a local FABO brother and now we’re very close friends. We’ve hosted about 6 FABO/FBBO picnics and always had a great time. Most Mopar people are very good people and friendly too. I also like hearing from Mopar fans around the world as well, because they can reveal how the US is seen around the world.

Many thanks to @Joeychgo for hosting these websites!

My biggest take-away from this forum is knowledge. I've become acquainted with many members here. I've become friends with some of them. Good people are always valuable, but even more so when it's car related. I've been a Mopar fan since the late 70's when I accidentally became the owner of a 67 Dart, followed by a 73 Duster. Fast forward through 35 years of no-fun-cars and I get back into the hobby after retiring. The wealth of knowledge here and the selfless sharing of expertise has allowed me to get one car road worthy (66 Valiant) and tackle a much more ambitious project that needs a complete restoration (69 Dart). I have bought tons of parts here and sold some as well. It's always nice to find that gizmo you need, or to help another member with their gizmo needs. The site is entertaining and interesting. The "My Luck" thread is one of my favorites - I've laughed so hard I've been in tears more than once over the funny stuff posted there. Bottom line, this place rocks!

Being able to talk shop, in any given moment, has been therapeutic.
Made some friends (I think) , but its nothing like in person, wish I wasn't so far from everyone else..

One of my quarter horses years back was nicknamed Therapy.
FABO is also therapy in so many ways as it relates to my car hobby.
In general, quite possibly the best group of people anywhere.

That was a goodun. I thought it was still in the blue room?

In some ways it's better than in person since you can turn it off. LOL
