Would anyone know on the Phoenix Graphics tail stripe for the 70-72 Dart if the marker lights location is pre-cut out of the stripe? Thanks

I guess nobody uses Phoenix Graphixs stripes lol:lol:no problem thanx

I've installed 4 sets of the Phoenix Graphics stripes over 20 years - last one 2 years ago. No they are not and should not be cut out. Getting something like that to line up would be near impossible and you want the stripe material to go all the way to the edge of the side light opening so that when you put the light in, there is no body color showing. It is how the originals were made (no cut out). If they were cut out, you couldn't use them on a 72 with the different side lights.

So you basicaly center the stripe over the opening for the marker light? i have looked a t different pictures of darts ,mine is a 70 and some seem the marker light is not center of stripe they look like they are to the rear of center. Im seeing Maybe im not right but its what I see?

It would be nice if they were all the same from the factory, but no deal Here's where mine are and I think it was mostly

determined by the bottom of the stripe at the valance (which also has to be cut through at the joint after it's in place) and the bend over the quarter. I'll try to send a close-up tomorrow.

remember that the V in the trunk lid stripe points toward the back. Once installed, when looking from the back it will look straight when installed - a little trick of the eye by Dodge design engineers.

Nice photo; was it taken at the Seattle museum of Flight?

Nope, this museum is west of Woodburn OR. I'll try to find that name and post it - it was a great spot with planes from WWI to the present. The gigantic Spruce Goose is there. There are a bunch of cool flight museums along the I-5 Corridor in WA/OR. My favorite is in Hood River OR just off I-84. It has a balance of planes and cars from the 1910s to 1980s.

When I did my stripe, I shined a light from inside the trunk so that when I was moving it over the side marker holes, I could get it perfectly lined up. Maybe it shined through so well because my stripe is white, but it's still worth a shot if you're going with a darker color. Hope that helps!

Here you can see that I did not cut it at the joint like str12 mentioned. Boy do I wish I did, because I couldn't figure out how to sink it into the recess of the joint by just working it with the tools I had.

So when did you cut the marker light hole after removing transfer paper? Would it be easier to cut with the transfer paper on and still wet? Thanks for your help

I cut it after letting it dry for the recommended 3 hours and removing the transfer paper. Someone else can chime in, but to me I think it would be harder while still wet because the decal can still move.
