It started out as a 2-3 race years ago and now it last from Saturday when we part till late Sunday night over a week later. After racing at this race for 40 years or so I started saying 3-4 years ago I was done with it. My last race of the year I’ve seen 80 degree weather on day one and 20 on the last day. Sun, snow, ice, rain, and yes one year we had to leave the track for the evening because of tornadoes. I found myself every year sending in my money and going even when I knew physically or mentally I wasn’t ready for it. It changed to 1/8 mile racing several years ago (thank God) after I lost at 4am three years in a row. I’ve raced 5 different cars I’ve owned at this race over the years. With Norwalk closing for the whole 2020 race season of course I’m not there, but my heart is.

That's a great looking Duster crew John. Your Boy's ? oh yeah, the Cat's to. Sorry you are missing this race because it is not on your terms. Best Wishes

This crew here is a friend driving Vic Elinger’s orange Duster. Vic is a great guy and works for Wiseco Pistons in Ohio. Middle green Duster is Nick Bowman a very tough box or footbrake racer from Pa. far right is my son Matt. These guys race against each other weekly and all are pretty tough racers to line up against.

Thanks for the post John. Cool stuff.
Vic Ellinger is a tough customer himself.
I got around him on the way to winning a race at Monster Mopar last year.
Kinda proud of taking that scalp..lol
He was in the Orange car

Great guy, great racer. He would loan anyone the shirt off his back. He’s a tough guy to go up against in his big block Mopar Volvo and is almost always in the later rounds. Really good guy to talk to when making piston, rods, and crank choices.
