Nice job. Gettin it all pretty is fun stuff.
Yea I'm enjoying it. I'm getting excited to get it all buttoned up and in the car. Not much longer hopefully I can get the cam degreed today and the bottom will be completely done and ready for paint. I just gotta clean it up and tape it off for paint. I have a extra timing cover, valve covers and a old two barrel intake I'm thinking about just setting up on the long block to spray it so I dont get paint in the internals and it will be leas to tape off

That’s exactly what I do. I have extra parts off to the side for that one and only purpose, painting. My extra valve covers, timing cover, etc... are multiple colors.
There is almost no need for tape.

Like so.....

Painting valve cover on top, tape to cover the ports razor knife cut to just under the gasket. Presto!

Yep exactly like that! That's what I was thinking .

The motor was for my wife...
318's are for girls...:poke:..
I remember when you built the pink engine for your wife.
I actually only have one 318 engine, its fresh sitting under my workbench, my plans change alot.
But I do have 2 big blocks, 3 340's and a 360 mag in my outbuilding.

I have painted em in pieces. Now I just do high heat primer on the bare metal and paint the final color like j par does
Well that was the original plan but I got excited when I was sanding the valve covers and primed them so I hit a little color on them and one thing lead to another. I didn't plan on doing it that way it just kinda happened that way

Funny you say that because i know two other mopar gals and both have 318 powered cars.

I'm fixin to get another car on the road for a daily and this time I'm going with a 318. I absolutley love Slants but I like the v8 rumble I can get from a 318.

Awesome work bud, keep it up !!l
Thanks man I'm getting really excited about how it's coming together. I never expected it turn out this good tbh! I set my goals at mediocre but deep down I'm sorta a perfectionist and when I get to a certain point I just cant stop till I'm satisfied sometimes it bites me on the butt because I cant stop at good enough and I end up keep going and messing up and having to start over lol I'm sure my level of acceptable and others are different mine probably looks like crap compared to others. But I wasnt about to send that dash off and pay hundreds of dollars to restore it perfectly. I did all that with a 30 dollar inlay and some old model paint.

I got some packages today I'm excited about. I got my rear tires they look awesome I cant wait to get them put on. I also got some goodies from rock auto. Got my plugs radiator hoses pcv valve and grommet, heater hoses, I got some extra hoses for the pcv valve, some extra headgaskets that was on sale for later they had felpros for 9 bucks and I got some extra fuel filters for 88 cents. They are the nice metal ones too.
