1965 Formula S automatic is going to be put back together during the following months. Don't know how this little spring ended up on the floor and not tagged/bagged. All I know is it has a little red paint on it and one hook has rusted off.

Heat riser spring? If so I would be surprised it would still have paint on it.

Possibly the e-brake return spring. My Coronet has the foot operated e-brake and I broke the ratcheting spring during the resto. Found a replacement at a swap meet.

This model has the pull handle under the dash type parking brake, but I will look into it. Heat riser was disabled by a previous owner, so I don't believe that would be the application. But nothing sure yet.

I have the pull handle on the Dart too, but I've never had it apart so I don't know what it looks like. But if your rear brakes and e-brake cable are installed, you can test for recoil.

1 of the 2 throttle return springs? im guessing the larger diameter one with the short hook on 1 side (still attached) and the long straight part with a hook on the end on the other side (rusted away)

It's maybe 1/4" in diameter, or 5/16" at the most.

Checked the parking brake handle; it has it's spring and very heavy duty compared to the spring in question.

Checking the Carter AFB, the primary throttle plate has a built in spring (still there) that weakly closes the primary throttle. The return spring that connects to the hook on the intake manifold is here, much longer and stronger than the spring in question.

I haven't found the A/T kick down/pressure linkage yet, that remains a possibility.

They are smaller in dia then return spring but bigger than what you show iirc.

I'm starting to lean to the exhoast manifold anti rattle spring.

That looks like a distributor advance weight spring...

Either way, one of the hooks/loops is broke off and it's junk...

Prize? For me there is, I can put back where it belongs (and for posterity sake, other lost Mopar souls with the same spring can find what to do with it).

Looks like one to me was the distributor ever inside the car that you know of?

Let me take a pic that is about the right size in width and length.
