I was just watching some old re-runs of "Dallas Car Sharks." A car that was sold at one of their auctions was a 1938 Plymouth Coupe. The buyer claimed that it was an aluminum body car. An all aluminum body Plymouth in 1938??? I researched the 38 Coupe, and found nothing to back up the claim of an all aluminum 38 Coupe. What say the experts?

I was gonna say Chrysler Airflow but that was metal. There were many chassis companies around, ie. Fisher, Fleetwood.....maybe one gave a Chrysler frame a shot?

Those guys are a joke.
Living around Dallas sometimes I can get the stories.
They did a Vincent Motorcycle on one show, like a Vincent would come to a local auction.
It was taken apart so it could be put back together by my friend in North Dallas.
Completely made for TV Drama.
And yesterday, a pretty good Jeep was auctioned with a note to call for the missing parts.
Yea, right.

I did hear of an aluminum body coupe in hot rod mag one time. May have been a Willy’s. Not sure. But I never knew they made anything like that . Those old companies made some crazy / cool stuff.
