So.... what’s it worth ? 69 GTS vert 383 4-speed

-
Health scares apparently can have positive results

Yep, the best automotive related thing to happen to me, honestly. I didn’t understand the significance even when i bought it. I looked at the fender tag, it said 99 for the paint code. It looked like it was originally A4, the car came from California so it was solid, obviously raced pretty hard. The one thing that made me hesitate is that it was wearing 383 manifolds instead of the hens teeth 440 set.

If the GTS was complete and restored maybe 20 to 30,000.

The others 10 to 20,000 restored.

All 4 as is 500 to 1500. Based on what I see.

Just my opinion
Are you saying that a 69 383 4 speed Dart Convertible is only worth $10-20K restored?????????

No I clearly said that a GTS would be in the 20 to 30,000 range. Perhaps from the link I posted earlier I should have gone as high as 40,000 but unless you have an M code or other truly unique, mr norms etc it's just not there.

Do a Google search. I just am not seeing run of the mill GTS going for 60 to 80,000.

The whole reason I posted this is because this isn’t a “run of the mill” GTS convertible. Not that any 340 automatic convertible would be run of the mill, but this 383 4-speed convertible was a very, very special car. Pushing M-code range.

nice and correct resto 50k or so

You don't have to convince me. I like the GTS especially with the big block of any size.

I just don't see it having return on investment in the condition it seems to be in the photos

Oh, I agree with you there. That’s why I didn’t buy it. On the other hand though, I’m not sure cars have ever been an investment for me. It’s a hobby, has been since I bought this 69 GT convertible in early 1985. This photo is from my wedding a year and a half ago.

Love it. In 2018 I got my left hand white fender painted a shade of blue that was supposed to match the rest of the 30 year old paint job.

Any 67 to 69 dart convertible is rare these days. There were only about 12,000 made total. My guess is that less than 1/2 are still in existence.

How much does the seller want for it?
I'm not in the market, no disposable income and no where to put it.

I haven’t asked him, no real interest. It’s at a wrecker called Aerotique, north of Edmonton. I’ve been there a bunch, know the owners well, bought a purple 70 340 3-speed Swinger from them. I didn’t even ask Tom at Desro how much when he offered it to me.

Used to be a 383 GTS Conv. here in Boise some years back. Don't recall if it was an auto or 4sp?
