I'm here
Having had our first snow fall yesterday , and our track closed early, living in a Covid World, what are you planning for the winter months (or at least those of us in the Northern region) for you mopar projects?
Mine...
  • I think my top priority for mopar projects will be collecting a few parts for the Drag Truck.
  • Maybe get the front seat recovered and new carpet in a Duster
  • Maybe get a rear end set up for the '74 Duster
  • I might even finish a motor on a stand..... :realcrazy:
Above all else, survive and sleep!

I’ll probably start gathering parts to swap magnum heads on my roller la block, rpm air gap intake 1.6 rockers. Too bad I can’t reuse my intake!!!!!

New intake and carb. Possibly refresh the heads, or at least valve seals.

Lets see, try and get one of my small block mopars down the 1/4 before the year ends. Get drivable my 67 fastback and 68 formal roof. Keep working on the house.

Oh, and think of Old Yeller and Pizza..... All winter

I am going to change the engine in my Coronet and get my Nova running. BOTH had better be on the road next spring.

1 off challenger rt. Was gonna just reassemble and drive but the color codes got me in debt again. Once you start, its hard to stop.

I was planning on starting on my 71 Cuda restore this winter but my friends 67 barracuda is in my garage. Im replacing a boatload of panels on it and getting it in primer. I dont know, maybe I can get the cuda in before the cold hits.

I’ve got a set of 3.55s gears, 440source heads, Comp roller rockers and springs, and an MP 284/.528 cam ready to go into my scruffy M-code GTS.

For me its multiple wintertime projects. This is actually a very ambitious list for my Sons 69 notchback. I got all the sheetmetal to redo it. Been working on it again now that the Texas heatwave is over. Where do I begin. Here's the list. I may not get to all of it over the winter, but I'm gonna try like heck in about this order below. The good thing is all the demolition work is done and out of the way. Almost everything that's staying is sandblasted and primered. This makes things go quicker. Trunk floor is prepped and temporarily screwed in place. That part is actually down to welding and grinding. So for the 69 notchback, my ambitious list is as follows

Weld in trunk floor (this coming weekend)
Replace rear valance
Replace butchered trunk hinge supports
Replace rusted out rear dutchman panel
Fab and rebuild rear window opening lower corners
Mod torsion bar hoop for 42RH.
Temp install a mockup junk block, and the 42RH trans to fabricate 42RH bolt up mount
Make and install better 2x3 box subframe connectors
Install new main floorpan & console brackets
Replace drivers side inner fender.

For my 67, to assemble the bottom end on my 408

Get the engine in the dart and get it broken in. Then I will work on the interior until spring. I got alot to do lol

Replacing the clutch on my John Deere 450e dozier.
Tear down the 72 Demon 340/4 for complete restoration (2 year project)
Hardwood floor in the kids room.
Negotiate world peace.

Winter? Is that the 6 days it's gonna rain more than .1", or the 6 days it might get below 50°?
Ha okay I'll be fabbing up some subframe connectors for my Satellite. Also been needing to get my TTI headers recoated so I'll probably do that at the same time.
And.... I've been sitting on the new terminals and other parts to completely re-hab my fuse box but I haven't had the motivation to lay under there and git 'er done...maybe this will be the year:rolleyes:

I’ve been working on a ‘74 W200 PowerWagon. I’m rebuilding the transfer case and NP435 manual transmission. Working on the Dana 60 front, and 70 rear I found out of a 1-ton.

Kindly waiting on Brain at IMM to build the 408 short block for it. Solid roller with an old school B&M supercharger. He’s a busy man, but worth the weight. I’m not up to the level of precision when it comes to assembling an engine I want to abuse. Lol

A 63 Dart four door I am working on for a friend. Got lots to do to it. One step at a time. I'll get pictures tomorrow.

hmm. so just mount them on the car then lay the intake and drill tap and dye?
There are a pair of jigs floating around that mount to the head in order to locate and drill the holes. I made a second pair of soso one's last time I was home (work on a boat offshore). Drill and tap. If you dont want to do that or have a broken intake bolt a machine shop can do them as well.

MY winter project? Making sure the coffee pot is in top condition, eating as much of my wife's good cooking as I can, and of course Old Yeller.

In this order:

82 D150 - Get the engine back together, do a seal kit on the 833OD, and new exhaust. This one is on the fast track to get buttoned up, licensed and insured, and out of the shop where it can be a useful vehicle.

69 Dart - Pick up where I left off, rebuilding the entire front end, swapping in KH front discs, and get the electrical sorted out well enough to be street worthy.

66 Valiant - This one will get a full rebuild and upgrade of all the running gear. I suspect this project could easily get delayed by the two time-and-money pits above but I'd like to get started on it.
