Hey guys home from work now , I’m working on a 2007 bmw 323i rear diff has a bad bearing ,no big deal dropped out the center section found bearings had to go to bmw for side seals and a pinion seal ordered a new crush sleeve ,parts came today ,crush sleeve is the one under the nut ,so I phone the nice kid at bmw , explained where the crush sleeve sat , oh he says that’s inside the rear end , I said yup between the inner and outer pinion bearings ,Oh he says ,ya we don’t sell anything internal for the differential, I said pardon ,he said nope nothing internal ,wtf how you fix them when they fail ? Well he says we put a new one in OMG I say I fix everything, well he says that’s the wave of the future , nice kid though not his fault , so now I gotta figure out how I’m gonna get proper preload on my new bearings ? Oh 1500$ for a used diff , wave of the future

No wonder I see used Beemers for sale cheap lately.
