Anyone compared the height of the Edelbrock RPM Air-Gap and the Speedmaster? Are they the same height? Searched but couldn't find this info anywhere. Thanks.

Speedmaster listed at 5.5" Air Gap listed at 5.350".

Air Gaps yes!
Other makers, ummm, copy cat intake manifold makers/sellers should have there heights listed on there site.

According to another thread, 5.35". I had a 1970 340 intake with a 1" spacer and now have a crosswind air gap with no spacer and it is about .5" shorter so I would say the numbers are pretty close

Here's a somewhat related question. I believe the ports on the Edelbrock Air Gap are 360 sized. What size are the ports on the Speedmaster air gap?

I had 2 next to each other and the plenum volume is smaller in the crosswind. Ports were slightly smaller on the crosswind but they were uniform, almost like they were made to port match. The Edelbrock I had had some wiggles in the port OD and especially between the ports. Nothing a 5 minute port match could not cure on the crosswind.

I ran an eddy air gap on my 68 barracuda. It is close. I had to run a dropped base air cleaner to get it to fit. Then the base can interfere with the linkage slightly. More the throttle pressure linkage than anything else. You will/should adjust where the throttle cable mounts to the manifold. It needs to be about 3/4” higher. Also the angle of the throttle pressure linkage might need tweaking or adjustment. One issue I had was I was running the stock lid. The dropped based air cleaner brings the lid down towards to carb throat more than I would have liked, but ran fine until I went back to the stock intake.

I have a 68-69 340 intake on the bench and an air gap on the shelf. If you have a 70 and up I’m not sure if they are the same height. I can measure it tonight if you want.

you guys are making this way harder than it is. A thread called Getting the intake on intake manifolds, 69Cuda440 listed all the heights of the manifolds. As I stated earlier I had a 340 manifold with a 1" spacer, now with an airgap and no spacer I gained a 1/2" of clearance so I know his measurements are accurate.

Ok, a hair under an inch difference to the front china wall. Because the air gap sits farther into the valley I flipped them over onto the carb mounting surface and measured the front. Airgap rpm is the first picture

The rear is a tiny bit under an inch difference, but almost 6” on airgap almost 5” on stock
