Decided to change out my ignition cylinder, and everything came apart nicely, when I put it back together it seems like putting the car into gear is stiffer. (mine is a automatic column shift) It goes into each gear and clicks in each position but now its stiffer. Any idea why when what I did shouldn't really affect it? I have double checked the linkage at the trans and it is still adjusted correctly.

I have also noticed when I turn my wheel it drags like its rubbing on something. Just dose not move smoothly like it should. Maybe upper bearing is tired?

I removed the snap ring and removed the housing with the bearing, then remove the C-clip and pried the steering lock disk that is attached to the steering shaft forward to get to the ignition cylinder pin. The shaft did come forward an inch or so and after I changed the cylinder I tapped it back in and reassemble and this is when I noticed these 2 issues.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What year?
The upper bearing and isolator rubber can be bought, I got on on eBay for a few dollars
