Turp

-
I had one a couple years ago. Worse part was having to carry a catheter for 2 weeks. A year later I developed scar tissue that plugged me up again. They went back in and did another one and it's been good since then. As far as my Dick working it does, but at 71 it doesn't matter much any more to me.

Ouch!
My dad has to have that done at least twice a year.
He's third generation prostate cancer. I'm doing everything in the world to make sure I'm not the 4th.
He's had it done so many times now, he's generally sore for a day or two, then you'd never know he had it done.
But you can tell when he's getting close to needing it again. A trip to the john lasts 15 mins.

Those, along with a Viagra prescription and report back on how it worked out for you.

I had it done as a recommended cure for my chronic prostate pain. I saw another urologist when the prostate pain didn’t change afterward and he just about accused the turp doctor of malpractice. All that pain from the turp and no benefit whatsoever.

Good luck to you Kim!

Dang Kim....I just learned quite a bit here.
You’re in my thoughts. Brian.

Here’s an update. Surgery is back on. Nov 03. Had my pre op done Tuesday. Have to go in on the 27 to get checked over to make sure I’m up to their standards. It’s a 4-5 hour ordeal. Kim

I don’t believe I’ll be put out as I have Sleep Apnea. They are not reaming out the passage. Their is a little piece of skin at the bottom of the bladder that flops over and blocks the passage. If I’m remembering this right. Kim

I do too. Had both mine done with a local only. To me the worst part is carrying the catheter around for 2 weeks.

Of all the threads i click on today....I think my wiener just took off and went up inside me... I wish you the best!!

Good luck to you Kim. This gettin old stuff ain't for sissies! If you have to have a catheter for a week or 2, try to just get by with the big bag instead of swapping it back and forth with the leg bag. When you swap bags, it makes it easier to get a urinary tract infection because of bacteria possibly getting in the hose when you unhook it to swap bags. It's a pain in the *** to carry the catheter around, but you'll get used to it. I had one for a week or so back in April, when I had to have prostate surgery. If you need any advice on dealing with the catheter, shoot me a pm if I can help.

Best of luck to you my friend im praying for you! Hope it goes well keep us updated.
