Wife & I went to Hawaii in 2003, and went to Pearl Harbor. Our tour guide on the USS Missouri was an old sailor that was stationed on it during WWII. He said that when the Mighty Mo fired a salvo from all nine 16" guns, off the side....the recoil would shove the ship sideways 8 or 10 feet!
