Wife and I picked up this 340 Swinger clone a couple of years ago. Been having fun cruising it around town until recently when the timing chain let go. Once I cracked the engine open I found that it would need to be totally redone as it was all original and basically worn out. I picked up an la 360 to build instead of doing the original 318. Looking forward to getting input on the build as I have been out of the old school mopar stuff for some time. RJ

Welcome! Wintertime in Northern Ontario is a great time to do some engine work. Smart choice on the 360 as they are plentiful and parts are cheaper compared to trying to eek out additional power from a 318.

Nice Swinger, good choice on the engine swap. Welcome to FABO, from the Land of Lincoln.....

Welcome, great looking Dart! You'll be pretty happy with your 360, even with only a few mild upgrades. What is the transmission in it?

How in the heck can you call that Northern Ontario.........
If you were straight South of me, you'd be just about on the border between the Dakotas, lol.
Yeah, I'm just tugging on your chain, lol.

Nice car, and I like your choice in a motorvator...
My friend's uncle had one of those with a 6bbl-Hemi and a 5speed, ran low 13s in stock trim, if I recall..............
Yeah more tugging,lol

The truth is my second car was a slightly used, 1970 Swinger340/4-speed/3.55s, that I purchased in the fall on 1970 for $2400, with just under 11,000 miles on it. The tires were nearly pristine, lol. Nice lil barnstormer, as long as it went where it was pointed.
But I guess you know that by now, lol.

Welcome from the Dakotas! Winnipeg is our nearest city for shopping adventures so we end up there quite a bit. Some great members in your neck of the woods. Tool Junkie comes to mind right off the bat. Love your car and you made a great choice in the 360. Super easy to find parts and easy and reliable HP upgrades.

I have always loved a bodies, got my first one when I was 16. It was literally grandmas grocery getter until I got wrenching on it. Mopar or no car,

That's so funny; years ago when our dollar was stronger, we came to Fargo/ GrandForks on shopping trips, and 3-day vacations to take the loot back duty-free.

Great looking ride. It will be nice to build it to your own specifications. Keep us posted
