Any old timer Navy guys know what this is?

Whether it moved the ship or not....I don't know. It was the old dudes ship....he served on it, it was his story, and he was much of a man at maybe 6'4"...even if he was 80ish. I wondered, but wasn't about to question it and get my *** whipped 5000 miles from home!
