Made in USA , ecm sold thru jegs is this unit actually capable of 7500 rpm operation?
Made in usa I figured it must be decent quality or is just the box it comes in made in USA !!!
I have purchased Accel parts for Buell electronic to points conversion and a few items contained in box were made offshore .

Why would you use an ECM, when multiple spark digital/analog ignitions are proven way superior + you can add a rev limiter?

Hey, don't be making fun of scotchlocks, i worked 35 years for Ma Bell , and we used them,,however the green ones taste better than the red ones.....:- )

This is inaccurate on a pound for pound level. This has been proven over and over many times and seen many times on this board by actual engine builders on ether there very own dyno or a third party dyno. The engine builders and/or third party dyno operators have no dog in this as there are not sponsored in anyway shape or form by the ignition companies.

The high energy multiple spark discharge ignitions from other companies have been found by way of the dyno sessions to produced less power. Ignoring the facts and just parroting the other manufacturers results is spreading false information.
How well the “Jegs” kit performs next to another ignition system remains to be seen. Also the benefit or adding a rev limiter is nice but not always needed or wanted for the task at hand. If you yourself need it, that is one thing. Just because you need it doesn’t mean everyone else must have it or must have the ability to add one on there set up even if they never use it or have need for it.
Compare ignition systems on as close to a level ground as possible. Don’t just repeat and go right to “Well the MSD 7series is way better & ......”

Unfortunately this Blue unit looks just like the offshore made units with the fake tall chrome "Top Hat" and long fine thead mount screws. It's on there just for looks, a smaller cheeper part is down on the board inside doing the work, and they fail.

Buy 2 so you have a spare to get you home when the first one fails.

That is pretty much the tell tail sign they are offshore. The old original mopar made ones had the short wider "Top Hat" mounted with short course threaded screws and those were functioning parts mounted to that heat sink to pull the heat out of them.

@wildbill You can disagree all you want. The facts are the facts. Dyno tested and proven. Ignoring the facts won’t help anyone including yourself.

Same style brain box I am using on my '76 D100, think it is a LX-100.

First one failed after 1 year, on my second one now, and the 3rd new one is in the glove box as a backup.

Kind of doing this as a test, if these failure rates get too high I have 2 real nice New Old Stock Mopar brain boxes stamped right on them Made In USA that I will put in.

So yeah, these aftermarket ones are cheep enough to throw out and swap in the next one. Just don't like the idea of the lesser quality part.

Here is what the fake offshore Top Hats look like inside, nothing in them. Crazy !

Thank you

That same blue box is available thru Rock Auto, without the 7500 RPM decal. It says made in Korea on it. I have one of each. Rock Auto is less $$.$$.

Lets see a pic of the base of the transistor on the inside, that is where the silicone chip would be with two small wired bonded and attached to the legs. The so called tophat part is just a cover. The ST logo and the silver paint on top looks like a legit transistor.

Yes the ST logo is the legit mopar transistor.

Pic of the inside of the bottom part of the fake one. That is where the silicon should be. Im curious if its an empty case or not.

Don't have a picture of that handy right now, but I did cut it open and there was pure beach sand inside and empty behind that fake translator on top. The heat sink was totally useless too cause the sand inside was insulating it from the ecu board inside.

Would be fun to sit down and have a conversation with the people that are building them and why. Decieving look alike parts.

This has been a topic for a while. Unless the transistor has RCA or Texas Instruments on it it is a fake. Buyer beware.

I have taken originals apart and there was sand under the potting material. Not sure why they did that.
