What are you guys using for rust inhibitor in cooling systems when using just water, can't seem to find it anymore at parts stores around here.

Redline water wetter is available online from autozone. May be available at local store?

Antifreeze.

I'm looking for some thing to run in my run stand, running distilled water and the inside of the blocks rust so bad so fast after you drain the water out is terrible.

I will have to look at the Redline Water Wetter

Antifreeze.
Yes, antifreeze mixed 50/50 with distilled water is the best protection your engine can get from corrosion, lubricate the seals, etc.
I still can't believe that people still fill their engines with straight tap water, regardless of the climate year round......

and it's relatively cheap

I used to run anti freeze but the last time my buddy was helping (it was his motor) and he didn't tighten the rad hose clamp and about 5 minutes into the breakin the hose blows off and made one hell of a mess.

My vote is for Dawn soap. Just make sure you record it and post it up on youtube.

:poke:

Okay, i'll bite.
Why do you use fabric softener on demo derby car?
It does the same as water wetter. Brings the temp down on the engine and helps keep it from boiling. Believe it or not those cars get so hot under hood they will melt a nylon oil line. If you have ever watched a good long heat or feature you will see the headers glowing orange with flames coming out of them.

Who would have thunk it?
How much percentage versus water do you use?
