Shipping

I got some very good advice this year. I shipped a 62-64 D100 grille this year and since it was steel I packed it and shipped UPS. It came to the buyer bent like a pretzel. I was pissed, but not a lot I could do about it. I then sold a 61 D100 grille which is thin aluminum factory riveted together. I was going to build a wooden box the could only be crushed by a forklift running over it. The buyer said take it to a UPS store and pay for them to box it up! I thought about it and realized what he said, that if THEY pack it they are 100% responsible for it and will be MUCH more careful when it ships! It got to the buyer Illinois to California in perfect shape! If I ever ship another valuable fragile part, I WILL do it the same way! It cost $80 for them to pack it, then what it cost to ship and the buyer paid for it so he would get a good part...
