Exactly. That throttle cable-mount plate looked Rube Goldbergish when I restored it in 1965 Dart w/ 273. Then I got a 1964 Valiant w/ slant six and saw how it began with the rotating rod throttle mount, so the cable plate was a retro-fit to that. Stumpy's car might have a later-year cable throttle fitted to it. I saw an early A in the junkyard like that, obviously a kludged-in setup, probably to retrofit a 318 engine.
