thanks for the input. I recognized a few things you mentioned and I’m glad you brought them up.
Big HP needs single plane intakes.
Honestly if I had the under hood room I’d weld up a sheet metal intake and delete the aluminum all together. I’d go multiport injection on a 318 low HP engine and be okay with the results. But the TBI units being mass produced, easy to work with and “bolt on” is so easy and hidden. I really just wanted to know what others think of what Intake is best to use for this set up. If there are any gains or information about this subject I’ve yet to read. And of course - personal preference- the question/pole at the top. There are a lot of people who would like to know more about bolt on fuel injection because it allows an old engine to run better on this crap fuel we are being sold but don’t have the working knowledge of it. With the cost still higher than a carb it is out of the reach for some or breaks the bank for others if additional parts are needed. I was able to afford this set up and now a few test mules would be great but the industry seem to leave MoPars out during their studies. Gotta start some where. Thanks for all the comments and info FABO members!

@Syleng1 My personal opinion is the bolt on throttle body style injection systems are no better than a properly tuned carburetor. I’ve said this before on the forums. Most good mechanics have no idea how to tune a carburetor beyond throwing a jet or two in it. And to make them good you really have to get deeper than that. WOT tuning is by far the easiest spot to tune in a carb and most guys never go further than that because they don’t know how. All of the wet fuel flow problems like puddling with a carb still exist with TBI and there is no way around it. If you are going to fuel injection, go all the way with a good stand alone ecu and a port injected intake. If you are considering a tbi set up it’s just as easy to learn how a carburetor works and tune it.

IDK any answers,
but many years ago I installed a dinosaur 3-dial Holley TBI onto my otherwise stock 1973 318 using a Weand small-port Excellerator.
I'll never do that again.
I pulled it off, and put a big TQ, onto a matching small-port iron intake, which with very little work, worked very very well. I ran it like that for more than 13 years.

IDK which component was the culprit; I gave it back to the seller.
I still have the Excellerator.

Just a thought... almost all 2bbl 318s came with single plane manifolds in the 60s and 70s...

Where ur wrong is , f.i. can be tuned from the drivers seat , no timing lights , jets , or air bleeds to screw with !

And there are more than one "expert" f.i. guys that say a single plane will work better .

Read what I wrote. I said a single plane is better. But 80% of the guys using tbi will never know the difference. Did you read my whole post or just the first line?

look into a eldebrock street master or a holly street dominator! both small port small open plenum intakes! tbi dose better with open plenum!

Was reffering to the tuning ease and aspect ,carb. versus handheld from the drivers seat ---------agree on single plane .

england swings like a pedalum do ----bobbies on bycycles 2 by 2----------roger miller ,
a lot diff. from a plenum ! ----LOL, JUST YANKIN UR CHAIN !

I've ran a Edelbrock Performer with a thermoquad, a RPM Air Gap with a Edelbrock 1406, and a Weiand 7515 x-celerator single plane, with a Holley Double Pumper.

I swear I felt a 50hp seat of the pants difference with the Weiand and Holley.

I used to run an airgap just because everybody here said it was the greatest. With a thermoquad. Then got curious and tried the Victor 340 intake. And boy did it wake my car up! Much better power and throttle response.
