‘72 Demon cardboard headliner install

I bought one of the vinyl covered abs headliners from Classic.
I took the car apart 5 years ago, and don’t remember exactly how it goes back together.
Are there any special tricks or advice?
Is there a trim around the rear window?
I can’t find any if so.
Are there sail panels?
I have the metal parts painted and ready to go on.

If I remember correctly, my headliner went in from the front. I had the windshield out, so it wasn't a problem. I put the head liner in & attached the sail panels afterward. As far as other trim, I'm not using any because it's a bracket car.
 
I have installed both the original pressboard type and newer abs headliners. The abs headliners are not fragile like the originals, and so much more flexible that it is an easy install. I did both installs on a Duster and Dart Sport, windows still in, with seats out of the car, through the door. Just had the door windows down and wide open, with a helper inside and I outside until we had it positioned. Basically the support points are the dome light housing, tucked under front and back windshield gasket, sun visors, rear view mirror, and clips like these at the door window areas. Also the shoulder belt strap clips if so equipped.

Do they still make the pressboard headliner? or is the ABS the only one available? I could definitely use a couple pressboard.

I believe I saw Dante’s had the cardboard headliners.
I opted for the abs one just for ease of handling and not so fragile.
 
What is the part number for the ABS headliner, all I see on their site are the headliners that require bows to keep them in place. The reason I ask is, after I posted about mine I went & looked at it. After sitting for the last year it's in sad shape from the humidity here in Texas.

No problem, your original sail boards get attached to the C pillar with press-in plastic fasteners and just rest on each other. Don’t know if the repos are the same on the attachment.

Think I may have a car out here that has some, if so I will try and post some pics.

I installed mine in my 73 Sport also with the front and rear glass in and the seats out. Lined up the center with the dome light and let that support it while I messed with the front and back. One tip - you'll probably have to trim both ends a bit to get them to fit under the glass gaskets without the gaskets getting out of shape and not fitting flat. Don't worry about trimming it, just do it a bit a time and don't get in a hurry. I had mine in and out several times doing the fitting. And it's a real pain without a helper.

My 73 Sport reused the stock plastic sail panels with the ABS headliner. No problem fitting at all.

The sail panels and headliner are all missing.

Just getting to the headliner now.
It went in after cutting the plastic for the mirror, and the dome light hole was off.
Still haven’t found any of the clips for the sail panels yet. Are they available anywhere?
