72 Dodge Dart, Idler arm looks new, but has play in the bearing where it attaches to the K Member. What brand would be the better one to use? Summit has a Pro Form part (102-10035) that looks good. Has anyone tried these? Or maybe a repair kit using roller bearings? Ok thanks for the help.
STEERING LOOSE IN COLO

Is it torqued down. Mine was loosening because I wasn't tighthening enough. 65lbs at K member and 40 at center link.

Mine was loose too, Retorqued it and put the carter key in

Had the same problem, someone Before me used a China one,I replaced it with a NOS I found on eBay and now it’s tight as a clams ***.

Does yours have a bearing or a bushing? Only buy the ones with a bearing.
The 1 in the car appears new, but has a bushing in there. When i clamp the center sleeve in a vise, the other end of the arm still has some play. Ordered a Moog K 7042, we'll see how that works out. Hopefully has a bearing. Its called the problem solver.

Do you have a factory service manual? There's probably a spec for it. I know on S/10 trucks for example there's a spec for idler arm "slop". There should be no more than 1/4" from one extreme to the other. It's a different design, mind you, but the reason is the same. If the idler arm is too tight, that will affect steering return to center. I don't "know" if there's a spec similar to that in the book for our cars or not.....as I've not looked, but it's best to consult with the service manual first, rather than "wing it".

Got the new Moog arm put in today. It is really tight! No play at all. Couldn't even rotate the arm in the bushing, until i had it clamped into the K frame. And then, only by turning the steering wheel. I looked at it while the wheel was spun back and forth, and it is rotating on the bushing, while the inner sleeve remains stationary. Moog is the way to go!
