Don't kid yourself. Those phones still work, you just have to call the phone co and tell them to enable 'pulse dialing' on your account. All switches have that ability. I had to 'put down' a rotary Mickey Mouse phone just today. Hook switch was non-op, could not short the line going off hook, so she could not place calls with it. She thought her line was dead but could receive calls...just not on that phone. Her kitchen phone was barely into the push button era itself. Her Mickey looked just like this one
