The Disuster

46RH is hydraulically shifted. Theres a kit to make it go into and out of O/D and lockup. It has 3 normal gears like a regular 3 speed when O/D and lockup are turned off. It's based on the A727 3 speed. The O/D unit is on the back of the trans. Lockup solenoid is for torque converter. Heres pic of the 42RH I got out of a dakota. Its A904 based. 0The neutral safety/ reverse switch and wiring plug are the same as what's in your car. The second plug has 3 pins. Center pin is common hot, fwd pin is lockup solenoid, rear pin is O/D solenoid. Pic shows location of solenoid wiring attached to plug. You can see neutral safety switch on the side. It's a fair bit of work to get it to bolt in, but you have the welding and fab skillz to do it. Most people fab up a new bolt in crossmember, and use a mid 1970s 2wd GM pickup truck trans flat biscuit mount since it's a bolt up to this trans. You can use a lokar cable kickdown. Newer than 1995 I believe is the 42RE and 46RE you dont want one of those. You also need to get a center sump V8 oil pan. Not sure on the magnum engines I think they all use 318 spec pans. I think theres a sticky on fabo on the mopar O/D trans swap. Putting one in a 1969 barracuda. 25" tall tires 225-60R15, and 3.73 gears. My math says it will turn 2,400 RPM in O/D and lockup at 75 mph.
