Hi guys so I'm rebuilding my 340 and as I do that, I'm switching my transmission from automatic to a 1971 A833 4 speed no OD. I still need to purchase a flywheel and bellhousing. I've seen that some flywheels come in different sizes even thought theyre for a small block? Can anyone help on what flywheel I need?

There's only one for a 340. 10 1/2" clutch. Larger wheels such as for 318 or 360 (they are different) are for pickup

I forget the tooth count, 130? is smaller, what you want. 140? some are for pickup different bell

130 is the number but some are 6 bolt some are 8 bolt. Also, they vary in 10inch, 10.5 as well. So a little confused about what I need

OP didn't state year of the 340 -- Balance ?
Here are a couple pictures of just the block. Casting date is 3/20/72

so is your crank a cast or drop forged , auto's in 72 - 74 could have had a cast crank , what does your balancer look like , does it say anything on it . and 130 tooth flywheel with a 10 1/2 dia clutch disc is factory , and 6 bolt crank hub in standard la , only racy cranks had 8 bolts , the early and later hemis both had 8 bolt cranks , but these flywheels will not fit the la car bell housing .

oh ya make sure there is a place for the input shaft bearing in the end of your crank some autos did not have a deep enough hole to use the standard bushing , but you can use the jeep input shaft bearing it fits were the torque converter hub fits .

I have an extra bell housing I ll probably sell it! and I have clutch pedals if you don't already have them?
