Saying Goodbye

Nothing is forever. We all want to keep our cars for ever but there will come a day for all of us when we have to say goodbye for one reason or another. It's easy to focus on the loss but there is some solace if we try to appreciate the times that we do have with these cars in our lives. It becomes obvious that that they make our days richer while they are here and they make our personal history richer through the memories that we get to keep.

But yeah. These are the hard moments. To car people, these things are so much more than "things." They represent good times, hopes and dreams, the stuff that gets us out of bed in the morning. As long as that car is out there in the garage, there's still some sense that there could more of the good stuff ahead. Some of us are just sentimental about our cars and see them more as a family member than an inanimate object. So when it becomes necessary to sell them, they leave a big hole in our lives.

It's going to a good home...you didn't sell it to some mouth breather who is going to chop it up or run it in a demolition derby. It sounds like the buyer might be one of us...I think you can be glad about that.
