I had to get these outta the shop rafters so I could access 4x8 sheet of plywood. They were redone like this when I bought the 69 vert almost 30 years ago.
Been in rafters for 15 at least. Gave them a wipe and snapped a few pics. Bagged them before they went back this time.
So tacky it's cool, still in great shape too.
Buckets are redone the same.

Holy cow Steve.....throw back for sure....some might even say old...I'd say vintage...lol.

The kick panels were done too I believe. They are packed up somewhere.
My 1st car a 74 Duster I did the front door panels in diamond tuck velour. Light gold color. Bought it off the roll at Beaver lumber a hardware chain from way back. Looked awesome lol.
If the 69 ever gets "done" I'll throw that in as is lol.

Surprisingly still soft. Had to blow out a little mouse **** and a quick wipe with soap and water. Piping and stitching all good too. Figured I had better bag them up this time to at least help keep mice away.

I like it. Many years ago i stopped at a neighbors place to have a closer look at a 57 Belair wagon that had been turned into a Elcamino. It has that same upholstery, headliner and all.

Yup! they look great.
was thinking along the same lines for my 51 Fargo interior. 68 chevy i had years ago was done in it.

I remember ads in the hotrod magazines, trying to get builders to use the hide of the "nauga". Cute little animal, the nauga. Havent seen one in a long time. Are they extinct?

Yes, the hot rod builders killed them all off with their fancy smanshy diamond tuck and roll!!!! There might be a few out in the wild Northwest but don't tell the car builders!!!

Many helpless Naugas died giving their hides to make cruel stuffed toys for our kids back in the 60s and 70s!!!

I had diamond tuck tijuana naugahide in my 57 chevy when i got it. Turned out they did the diamond tuck right over the stock cloth, seats, door panel and all!

That’s how a duster was that I had. Also another car had what was called fun fur all over the inside. Another car had crushed velvet interior. I hated that crap. Kim
