I looked at a new set of these V.C. yesterday and those spider cracks were in there also so it looks like they come free of charge with a new set of those covers.

As stated before, they are not cracks. They are flaws in the die/core pattern that the aluminum is cast into. They really should not be there... so grind them off. Mopar should clean up their castings. Of course we all know that we are not the customers they care about anymore.

You're so right. Just give them, starting at $50,000 for a new Hot Rod Challenger and they'll smile all they way to the bank. Small block and big block what are they? Maybe they should have continued development on the small block like GM did, instead of coming out with a new engine that has had problems.

Besides trimming for the intake, I suggest using 1/4-20 x 28 studs. They will allow for more even torque and eliminate any possibility of a false torque from bottoming out.
