Put in a locked distributor today. Mainly because I needed the one out of DT for another project... LOL. It seems to be happy with it, though... :)

New rear springs - upgraded to D150 springs. One is installed, one to go....

I'll take winner...

I pulled the front bumper off today to see how it would look without it.....

and I hate it. It doesn't look good to me..Bumper and brackets weigh 30 pounds. I am putting it back on. I may make some brackets out of aluminum angle I have. That may save a pound or two.

I agree, my front bumper is staying on too. Leaving my end gate on too, my wife is in love with the end gate .... LOL

I want to keep my gate too. It has already been lightened a little though...rust holes!

I should take off the back bumper to see what it weighs, it looks heavy. I am not sure about it. I never really liked it. I need something back there though.

I removed the rear bumper and put a wood piece, I like the looks better and it's much lighter. And yep, DT is getting lighter as it sits (shhhhh... I can hear it rusting) :D

Wood is probably out for me. Lumber prices have doubled....
I have a couple of parts Valiants in the yard that have rear bumpers. I wonder how that would look?

On second thought, I don't know if I feel like laying in the weeds to take one off.

The only thing old yeller is going to have to have a hard time with is listening to all the excuses I'm sorry I mean reasons 318 lost..:D..
When we gonna run our dusters jpar? I bet I wouldn't even need my nitrous lol. I will show you a high 9 sec smallblock...Gonna be in Oregon before you know it. I'd love to wax you on some backroad. I'm sure there's 1 around... Let me know.

wrong thread.... Or start a 426ohyeah vs Jpar. :) I say that because your thread is pages and pages of nonsense, name calling and debates.

*this thread's race will happen no matter how bad I get beat :D

Agreed... And Agreed...:D..

Nope, we are right on track and staying on track!! :D DT could race today (and lose really bad :D ) and OY is having lot's of progress being made!

Actually if the race was now, I would lose. Motor is in pieces! I still need to go through the 727 too.

I am saving most of the motor and trans work for when it is too cold to work outside. I am still a long ways away from running, but am making a little progress every week. This thread has helped a lot, keeps me motivated. I hope to drive it early spring and get some miles on it and some tuning time before the race.

We have all of 2021..... If not Spring, then Summer. If not Summer, then Fall.... Pizza is good anytime

Well, out of curiosity, I took the back bumper off.
It with the bolts that held it on is 72+ pounds!

I am not sure what I will do, but I think I can put something lighter on there.

I will keep it around and if I can't get traction, I can put it back on.

Just thinking, your short bed is like an "altered WB" compared to my long bed... LOL. I'm excited for the learning curve of trying to get a truck to hook. I'm thinking "on the street" and not on a prepped track, a 1.9 60ft might be an accomplishment...
