[318 LA] main bearing info needed

If the crank has a tapered radius choose a bearing with the right chamfer. Stock cranks did not have a chamfered bearing.

you may also want to use a later #3 thrust bearing if it can fit. I believe they have a wider thrust area to take more loading.

I went back and looked at the pictures of the Chrome-A-Shaft crank box. It does show radiused 2 inch rod journals but doesn’t mention anything about the mains. That’s going to have to be looked into a little closer. You have a picture of a main journal and a dial caliper measurement? Being such a custom piece made for Bob Glidden, it’s possible it may have some odd main bearing journal measurements like small block Ford.

Those look like rolled radius fillets to me. That’s going to take some checking around. Do you have a main journal diameter?
