Is this a good price/deal? (NOT MINE)

No.

I had one listed from a '78, complete drum to drum with a 3.90 and sure grip for sale for $450.00

No takers.

I wouldn't say "useless" but unless you want to run a 2.45 gear, you're going to have to find another carrier and although the rear axle housing will fit an A body, it's actually 1/2" too wide meaning you'll have to spread the springs apart to get it in. Plenty of people have done it, but it's really not correct. Lastly, although I know it can be put in an A body, I don't know how the overall length compares. The 2.54 carrier would be enough right there for me to quit lookin "at that".

OK....that makes 4 people on the fence.:lol::poke::poke::rofl:

Oh, I forgot....no shipping involved!!!

Yes not useless. Better than no rear axle at all. But still a No for me. It could be free and that would be better. That is pretty big money for something with no SG and a slow ratio.

"Brake drums sand blasted and painted" but actual brakes were left crustier than my ex girlfriend. hard pass haha

SOoooo...One hard pass, one "crusty ex-girlfriend" and 4 still on the fence???? I'm having a hard time deciding with all these wishy washy answers.

I think I'll go with the crusty ex-girlfriend!!!:rofl:

I think it is “SWEET!” Look at that rear, banging 2.45 ratio, nice krylon paint(primer built in of course) drop in the trunk of almost any car. And a free potato peeler ... just pay for shipping and handling. All for $19.95... Ooops $495

What part of No don't you understand. I'm going to yell rape here pretty soon! :rofl:

OK, OK.............I get it. The consensus is to purchase and resell for a profit...GOT IT!!! I'm not as think you am as everyone is slow.

F body open 8 1/4 I peg at $150.. Even open Abody 8 1/4 not much more, but I am cheap.!
Anything F body is cheap unless talking of the perfect grill, supercoupe, kit car, or maybe T tops.

Either the 3.90 ring gear or sure-grip unit was dated much newer, 80s or 90s I do not recall which now.

He obviously put some time into it. But then you could restore a Yugo...and just sink a lot of money into it that you cant ever recover.

Shoot, you can do that with an A-body

It might work well in a light car with >25" tires and an early 833 with a 3.09 1st that will see a lot of high mph speeds. Like out here in the west where it is normal to be passed while doing 85 mph on the interstate.
