Im in the middle of hooking a aftermarket radio up in my 73 Valiant. I wanted to see what can be used from the factory harness to supply the radio with power to keep presets and clock since the radio harness has one for ignition power and the other for dimmer.

Part of it depends on power requirements. If the new radio has a high output audio section, the old harness/ fuse may not be enough. So look in the destructions and see what the requirements are

Generally.......the two wire original plug has red--switched acc power, and orange--dimmer controlled dash lamps. You may need a constant power feed for the new radio memory, so you'll have to run a wire over to the fuse panel "hot" buss

Radio says its 200w (50w x4) Im only running 2 rear speakers.

For the yellow, 12 volt constant from what i've been searching I could use the Cigar lighter hot wire.

Is this wattage to much? From what I can tell by reading the instructions and box, it does not look like it has a high output function. The radio is a Dual brand DC207BT.

Other than the factory radio wires what would be the second best option to run for 12V ignition accessory?

Cigarette lighter is right there in most models and hot at all times so there is your memory circuit power source. Properly tap that wire. There is a lot more power there than the memory circuit and that small gauge wire needs so inline fuse is recommended.

If I were to run an inline fuse, how many amps should the fuse be?

So here my plan I hopefully figured out. There is a spare section on the fuse block that is unused, in the manual it says it is an accessory slot and I have tested it and it is 12V ignition Run. So I think I will run power there. As far as the yellow wire for presets I will undo the cigar liter at the fuse panel and run a pin from it to the radio. Both wire I will use 14 ga wire with inline fuses after the fuse panel fuses for insurance. If anyone thinks part of this idea is bad please let me know. To me is sounds ok. Im good at mechanical work but I hate electrical even though it probably isn't that confusing lol

A 200W radio is a LOT of power. "If it were" 100% duty cycle, it would be 200 / 12 which is about 16 amps. DOUBLE that if it is 200 per channel.

I would NOT run that off the ignition switch, which is already overloaded. If you have not done the ammeter bypass I would do so, or run a new hot wire (fused) from the battery and if you want the radio on/ off with the key, use a keyed source to trigger a relay and feed the radio

EDIT.......is this the radio?

The specifications claim this is only 16 watts

Yes that is the radio, what I ended up doing was using the unused accessory position on the fuse panel and ran the power line to the radio from it with a inline15amp fuse after the 20 amp fuse that is on the fuse panel. As far as the memory wire or yellow wire I did not use it at the fuse panel for the cigar lighter but I used the pink wire going into the cigar lighter and ran it to the memory wire again with an inline 15amp fuse with it as well. Seems to be working ok so far.
