RRR, be carefull with that cam. It seems like many of the oil pump gear failures were with that cam. I have never had a gear failure, but did wipe one lobe on one of those cams (the only slant six cam failure I ever had).
Personal observation: It looks to me like most of the cam issues with the slant, are with newer cam blanks. Most of the cams I have run, have older dates on the box. It also seems to me there is less of a problem with regrind cams. This leads me to believe it is more of a metallurgy issue. This is just MY OPINION.
PS: I have a Racer Brown cam with very similar specs to the MP cam (I understand RB did grind the MP cams, though that could be incorrect), and that cam has been fine.
